How to hang a salon wall in one afternoon
BY THE HANGA STUDIO

A salon wall is a group of frames in different sizes. It looks random. It isn’t, and once you know the trick it takes one afternoon.
1. Start with the big one
Hang your biggest print a little off-centre, with its middle at about 145 cm. Everything else goes around it.
2. Keep the gaps the same
Leave 5 to 8 cm between all the frames. Equal gaps are what make ten different frames look like one wall.
“Tape the paper template to the wall first. Live with it for a day. Then drill.”
3. Paper before nails
Wall Sets and Collage Deals come with a paper template at real size. Tape it up, step back and move things around until it looks right. No extra holes.
4. End with a small one
Put one A4 at the edge. It makes the wall look like it grew over the years, even if you bought it all at once.
